ToolBox 9 Reflection

In todays session, we were tasked to have a photoshoot in based off of the products we made earlier. Unfortunately, even though I spent the night before making my props I forgot to bring them with me. This taught me a lesson of always double checking my bag before I leave home. I was stressed about my props so I had to find a solution. I decided to continue taking photos as planned and edit my props into the photo. I enjoyed the process of doing hair and makeup on my model Hannah. We went outside and took photos in a few different locations around the campus. I used my iPhone and shot from a zoomed out lens which made the photos look cool and different. I also modelled for Hannah’s product which was something new to me as I have not modelled before. I realised that I enjoy being photographed and taking the photographs, it was fun to explore both sides.

My favourite part of the process was curating the photos and the editing process. I am extremely interested in fashion media and journalism which is why I want to make sure I edit them to the best I possibly can. I played around with filters that made the image look dark and grungy and filters that brightened the image. I also experimented with removing the background of the image and creating cool collage-like pictures. Before actually editing my photos, I had to make sure that I edit the props into the image. Overall, I was happy that I managed to make everything work out despite the challenges that I came accross.
