On Thursday October 7, we had to analyse a recent runway show. I was so excited for this as I had just watched the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022 show the night before. I knew automatically I wanted to chose them, so I did. This task was challenging as I had to think about themes and messages within the collection. It was a bit hard for me to put into words the ideas that I had but I managed to do that. Analysing the visual aspects such as the colour pallet and fabrics were easy, but deeper aspects such as audience and themes were a bit harder to do. There were some moments where I wasn’t sure of what words to use. This task made me realise that I need to learn some new english vocabulary that can help me describe what I’m seeing or sensing.
We also had to design a shoe based on the collection whilst also taking inspiration from the places we visited the last week. I was so proud of myself as I incorporated my personal style, the theme of the Miu Miu collection, and art from the V&A Museum and Brick Lane into the shoe. I was happy with the result of my shoe as I felt that it was unique and different but still wearable. It’s customisable, the leg warmers and embellishments are detachable. Also the ribbon laces can be switched out for other pastel colours.
