On the 30th of September, we were put into a group of three and had to style someone using random fabrics and clothing that were available. From that, we had to create a short video and 4-6 images. We decided to make Jin the model, the idea was to go for a grungy, cool, feminine look. We made sure to collaborate and share our ideas with each other. We accessorised Jin with different accessories and shot multiple photos and videos in different locations. First she was on top of a storage cupboard and then she was squatting next to the sink. As a group we had a few disagreements about the accessories which was why we experimented and tried to take as much pictures while switching accessories. This was a challenge as we all had different tastes.
This task helped me to work on my photography and editing skills. I enjoy taking photographs and editing and I am pretty good at it however video editing and creating videos was a weakness. While my group and I agreed on the pictures and the editing styles, we all disagreed when it came to the video. Some of us didn’t like the filter or songs put in the video which caused a but of arguments. I made sure to try to listen and understand their suggestions for the video. The disagreements made the video task hard to do. Overall, I enjoyed the process of styling, taking pictures and editing. At least I know that video editing is not for me, it was good to attempt to do it though.
